Why the heat? To protect your muscles, allowing deeper stretching. The heat opens the pores, letting toxins out, detoxifying you from the inside out. The heat helps to thin the blood (provided your are well hydrated before the class), this thinning of the blood helps clear the circulatory system. It also increases your heart rate, providing a better cardio workout and improves your strength by putting your muscles in optimal state for re-organization of fats in the muscles.
